II. PROGRAM TO STRENGTHEN THE MOVEMENT FOR RESPONSIBLE DEVELOPMENT

The benefits of development policies and programs implemented since 1990 have not reached the population equally. Few people benefited from the development and the gap between the rich and the poor became widespread in the society. Therefore, the program which is being implemented starting from 2020 is aimed to contribute in making development responsible and in introducing human rights based approach in formulation of development policies.

Goal:The goal of this program is to conduct evidence based, participatory research on implementation and accountability of development policies and plans to promote human rights and freedom; to carry out advocacy work to contribute in the preparation of leaderswho will facilitate citizens’ participation and empowerment for the development justice movement.

Objectives::

  • Disseminate the concept of economic, social, environmental, development justice and accountability in connection with the SDGs and their targets
  • Conduct trainings and research studies to improve the knowledge and capacity of citizens on the issue of development accountability, and to facilitate participation of civil society and multi-stakeholders in evaluation of the SDGs’ implementation
  • Development of partnership and campaigns for protection of land, environment and human rights amongst local administration, private sector and citizens
